Solution

Know every competitor price on Google Shopping, every day

Check a product once and get every seller Google Shopping lists for it, with price, shipping and total price. One request, one credit, no per-seller fees.

The problem

What gets in the way

Your shoppers compare you against every other seller Google Shopping lists for the same product. To price well you need the same view: who sells it, at what price, and what it costs with shipping.

Checking product pages by hand does not scale past a few dozen products, and APIs that bill per seller make the products you care about most, the ones with many sellers, the most expensive to watch.

The approach

How CrawlerData solves it

  1. Find the Google Shopping product_id for each of your products once with a shopping search, then store it.

    Google Shopping API
  2. Check each product with the sellers endpoint: sellers[] holds merchant, price, shipping, total_price and availability, sorted by total price.

    Google Shopping Sellers API
  3. One request returns the whole seller list, so a product with 12 sellers costs the same 1 credit as a product with 2.

    Google Shopping Sellers API
  4. Run the daily batch on the fast or regular queue and receive results by webhook or polling. Every queue costs the same.

Example

One request, structured data back

All sellers for one product. The response is sorted by total_price; sellers_count tells you how many there are.

What it costs

A worked example

Every endpoint costs 1 credit per request. Here is what a typical monthly workload costs with whole credit packs.

2,000 products checked once a day × 30 days

= 60,000 requests a month

1 credit per request, so 60,000 credits a month.

Buy one month at a time

2 × Starter (100,000 credits) for $100.00

$100.00 / month

$0.0017 per product check

Buy six months at once (best)

360,000 credits needed: 1 × Standard (500,000 credits) for $375.00

$62.50 / month

$0.0010 per product check, 140,000 credits left unused after six months

Packs are bought whole, like in the pricing calculator. Credits are valid for 6 months, so buying ahead can move you to a cheaper pack. Failed requests are not charged. Prices exclude sales tax/VAT.

Good to know

Limits to plan for

  • A sellers request loads the full Google Shopping product page, so it can take tens of seconds. Use the fast or regular queue for daily batches rather than waiting on live requests.
  • Results are what Google Shopping shows at request time for the country you choose. A merchant's own site can show a different price or stock level.
  • You need the Google Shopping product_id. Matching your catalog to product IDs is a one-time step (a shopping search per product), and some products are not listed on Google Shopping at all.
FAQ

Questions

How many credits does it take to check one product?

One. The sellers endpoint returns every seller Google Shopping lists for the product in a single request, and every request costs 1 credit.

Is shipping included in the price?

Each seller has price, shipping and total_price as separate fields, each with value, currency and the raw text Google shows.

Can I monitor prices in more than one country?

Yes. Pass a 2-letter country code such as us, gb, de or au. Each country is a separate request, so checking one product in three countries costs 3 credits.

What happens if a check fails?

Failed requests are not charged. The job reports the error and uses 0 credits, so you can retry it.

How often can I check?

As often as you need. Each check is one request, so the cost is your number of products times your number of checks.
